Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore & BioBlitz

African American park ranger leads discussion and teaching session with students about the plant and animal life they can find in the ponds of Indiana Dunes State Park. This Indiana Dunes State Park BioBlitz was a 24-hour event in which teams of scientists, volunteers, and community members joined forces to find, identify, and learn about as many local plant and animal species as possible. Bioblitzes are a way for communities, students, and scientists to get hands-on experiences and field research to better understand the nature in their own backyards and find way to better appreciate and protect it.
