Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore & BioBlitz
African American park ranger collects insects, plants, and specimens for student to observe in the Indiana Dunes State Park. This Indiana Dunes State Park BioBlitz was a 24-hour event in which teams of scientists, volunteers, and community members joined forces to find, identify, and learn about as many local plant and animal species as possible. Bioblitzes are a way for communities, students, and scientists to get hands-on experiences and field research to better understand the nature in their own backyards and find way to better appreciate and protect it.
